Grab a seat at SZENE Salzburg for a screening of our latest snow films. From the magic of mastering the simple turn, to technical freeriding in the backcountry, to the power of passion and community in an ancient mill in France, we’re proud to present three short films dedicated to the joys of snow motion.
We'll be joined by Patagonia snow ambassador Nicholas Wolken and are planning a Q&A with him, so bring your burning questions along!

Nicholas Wolken
Nicholas “Nico” Wolken is a professional snowboarder from Switzerland and co-founder of KORUA Shapes. Over the years, Nico has developed one of the most distinctive and influential turning styles in all of snowboarding, and balances life between spending time in the mountains and his work as a psychotherapist.
Lena Stoffel
Lena is a Patagonia Ambassador, skier, filmmaker, and mother. Through her films and photography, she shares her adventures and the places her sports take her—and how nature, skiing, snowboarding, and surfing give her strength and a sense of calm
.
Anati Graetz (Le Moulin des Artistes)
Anati was born in Oslo and grew up in Florence, Italy. An artist and musician, Anati first met Peter in Montreuil before the couple moved to Chamonix to pursue their handcrafted ski business, Rabbit on the Roof. From fitting the ski edges and assembling wood mosaics, to painting in her workshop and leading impromptu jam sessions at the mill, Anati’s spirit and influence touches every element of Le Moulin des Artistes.
Peter Steltzner (Le Moulin des Artistes)
Peter grew up in Sausalito, California. After studying ceramics at university, he travelled to Europe where he discovered his passion for wood. Settling in Paris, he specialized in furniture making—but the draw of the mountains and skiing were strong. Combining his two loves, Peter and his wife Anati moved to Chamonix to produce handcrafted wooden skis through their business, Rabbit on the Roof.

Co-founder of Opening Up the Outdoors. Phil is a London-based creative, and co-founder of Black Trail Runners and the charity Opening Up the Outdoors (OUTO)

In a 16th century mill in the Chamonix valley, Peter and Anati run Le Moulin des Artistes: a ski workshop, art space, and gathering place for like-minded free spirits. Whether it’s in Peter’s handmade wooden skis or Anati’s paintings and music, Le Moulin des Artistes shows us what happens when you devote your life to creative expression. How it can bring purpose, build lasting community, and even help overcome disaster.

For Nicholas Wolken, turning is more than snowboarding’s foundation. It’s the simplest expression of what riding is all about. And from going pro to shaping snowboards made for turns, he’s spent much of his life chasing the deep feelings that come with carving on snow. Sure, the act of turning might be simple. But when mind, body, and board collide in a perfect toeside, simple has never felt more supernatural.
An Alaksan snowboard film
Ryland Bell has always been a dark horse. Born in Alaska and based year-round in Haines, the notoriously hardcore snowboarder and commercial fisherman spends his winters quietly hiking world-class spines from his backyard. In April of 2025, he headed deep into his home mountains in search of the biggest line of his life. Watch the trailer for "DIG " down below.

Manche verdienen sich mit ihrem Handwerk ihren Lebensunterhalt. Für andere ist es ihr Lebensinhalt. In Chamonix betreiben Peter and Anati in einer Mühle aus dem 16. Jahrhundert „Le Moulin des Artistes“ – Skimanufaktur, Kunstatelier und Treffpunkt für gleichgesinnte Freigeister. Ob Peters handgefertigte Holzski oder Anatis Malereien und Musik, Le Moulin des Artistes zeigt uns, was geschieht, wenn man sein Leben dem Ausdruck der menschlichen Kreativität widmet. Denn die Leidenschaft für ein Handwerk kann etwas Bedeutungsvolles schaffen, eine starke Community aufbauen und sogar dazu beitragen, Katastrophen zu überwinden.
Über die Essenz des Snowboardens
Für Nicholas Wolken sind Turns mehr als nur die Grundlage des Snowboardens. Sie fassen perfekt zusammen, worum es beim Snowboarden geht. Von seiner Profikarriere bis hin zur Entwicklung von Snowboards, die speziell für Turns konzipiert sind: Nicholas hat einen Großteil seines Lebens dem Gefühl gewidmet, das man nur beim Carven auf Schnee erlebt. Turns mögen einfach sein. Aber wenn Geist, Körper und Board in einem perfekten Toeside zusammenkommen, fühlt sich das Einfache auf einmal übernatürlich an.
Ein Snowboard Film aus Alaska
Ryland Bell war schon immer ein heimlicher Star. Der Profi-Snowboarder und Berufsfischer aus Haines in Alaska sucht gern das Extreme und verbringt seine Winter damit, still und leise die Weltklasse-Spines vor seiner Haustür zu fahren. Im April 2025 machte sich Ryland tief in die Berge seiner Heimat auf – auf der Suche nach der größten Line seines Lebens.
